The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society is the only UK patient led charity focussing specifically on Rheumatoid Arthritis.
The aims of the charity are to provide information, support and advocacy to those living with Rheumatoid Arthritis, their families
and carers; campaign on a national and local level for better access to treatments and services; encourage better disease self management
and be a “one stop shop” for all your RA queries and concerns. NRAS offer an online forum for members of the society to support each
other and discuss topical issues. There is also a free phone helpline 0800 298 7650 available Monday to Friday 9.30 to 4.30.

Arthritis Research UK is the Charity leading the fight against arthritis.
The Charity is working to take the pain away for sufferers of all form of arthritis and helping people to remain active. It is doing this by:
- Funding high quality research into the cause, treatment and cure of arthritis and translating the results of that research to benefit patients.
- Educating and informing the general public, patients and health professionals on all aspects of arthritis.

York Branch of Arthritis Research UK:
One of a number of volunteer groups raising money on behalf of the Charity, the York Branch has been continually fundraising in York and the surrounding area for the last 40 years.
Through a variety of activities, donations, collections, stalls, coffee mornings, sponsored events etc it raises over £12,000 annually, all of which goes to Head Office to support the research work.
